Led a talented group of distributed Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps Engineers as we designed and built the Bullish Exchange. Supported multiple development teams to continuously test and deploy microservice application workloads on Kubernetes and VMs.Evolved and scaled the Bullish Exchange infrastructure from a start-up to commercial success. Established low latency connectivity options to institutional customers. Improved our security posture by implementing WAF policies, outbound filters, and several internal security tools. Technical lead for the Block.one / Bullish Infrastructure Engineering team. Adapted our cloud environment framework for the specific needs of the new Bullish Exchange. Built and deployed cloud infrastructure and applications, leveraging GCP, AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, and Ansible within CI/CD pipelines.

Designed and built infrastructure across multi-cloud GCP/AWS environments for Block.one's EOSIO based applications using Terraform and Docker. Built a custom Kubernetes cluster for performance testing blockchain software. Designed and maintained internal and public EOSIO testnets.We designed, built, and launched an EOSIO based social media application from scratch. This required writing Terraform to build out full environments in both GCP and AWS. Key infrastructure applications set up included Okta for IDP, Consul and Cloudflare for internal/external DNS, web proxying, VPNs, Prometheus and Grafana for observability, repository caches, etc.

Senior engineer for Rackspace Email (RSE). Led or provided review for major changes to the RSE production environment. Led engineering meetings to standardize best practices, discuss challenges, and provide guidance for other engineers. Continued as lead engineer for mail routing services with the additional responsibilities of fulfilling the same role for the email access infrastructure.Researched, designed, and implemented a highly available redundant public DNS solution for RSE customer facing services. Chose the new vendor and worked with them to negotiate the contract and migrate services to the new platform. Championed DMARC and DKIM (inbound email authentication) implementation at RSE and helped put it in place on our MTAs. Virtualized the mail routing infrastructure, reducing the hardware footprint by 75%. Worked collaboratively with multiple RSE development and product teams to complete the new mail storage platform.Worked with other teams to assist with their difficult projects. Helped the infrastructure team stabilize and upgrade the primary Cassandra cluster used for email metadata storage. Worked with the authentication team to stabilize and improve the LDAP based auth platform.

Lead engineer for the DevOps email routing team. Evaluated, planned, and implemented hardware and software solutions for a several hundred server Linux email environment spread over multiple datacenters. Responsible for keeping email services running for over 4 million mailboxes.Worked on a team of developers to release frequent and controlled changes to production using Chef. Mentored and trained junior members of the team with production knowledge and Linux engineering best practices. Worked with the team to improve monitoring, alerting, and graphing of metrics. Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network and load balancing configurations for email routing services.

Created the production Xen (later KVM) virtual machine infrastructure used by Rackspace Email. Wrote and maintained the kickstart system and server provisioning for the org. Maintained the load balanced external DNS records for customer facing services. Contributed to multiple datacenter migrations while minimizing customer impact.

Handled migrations of new customers to the email hosting platform. Moved terabytes of customer email from external hosting to our platform. Authored scripts in Bash, Python, and PHP where appropriate to automate migration tasks.
