Profile bio

About Jean-Paul Ledoux

While I started as a CG generalist for an FX house, my career path has taken me deep into the heart of compositing for Animation with a great deal of time on the TD side of things. I've been the a Compositing Supervisor now for 9 of the last 10 years, overseeing the production of two long run animation series, 'Chaotic' and 'Thomas the Tank Engine', as well as 4 DVD movies and participated most recently on Seth Rogen's animated feature, 'Sausage Party'.Scripting in Python has become a regular part of my role, building artist tools for my own department, as well as supporting general pipeline functionality. I firmly believe in making things efficient and hands-off as possible, so artists can spend their day on the art and not fighting tech. The last three years have also seen me as the primary Shotgun TD at Nitrogen where I've tried to leverage the platform to improve our artist's productivity and empower production.Specialties: Nuke, Python, Shake, XSI, After Effects, Photoshop, Maya.Production-wise: Look Development, Tools development, Communication, Collaboration, TrainingScripting: Python, QT(PySide), Shotgun Toolkit/API

Listed skills include Nuke, Compositing, Maya, Visual Effects, and 17 others.
