As Group Editor in charge of the magazine I am responsible for driving every aspect of its editorial direction to ensure that it maintains its unique community voice and serves as a portal for all the vital information that people in Abu Dhabi need. In charge of an intelligent and lively team of young journalists, week in, week out, we create a publication that is both entertaining and informative, covering everything from family issues and community life in the capital to the best places to find the perfect shawarma or not to miss out on the latest pop up art show. I have also overseen the revitalising of the magazine's social media and online offerings and helped to generate new revenue sources for Turret Media in this regard. On top of being in charge of Abu Dhabi World, I am also ultimately responsible, as Group Editor, for www.DubaiWeek.ae, Turret Media's new online product which is to form part of its digital offering in the future. Under my guidance and direction, working very closely with the Editor Jane O'Neill, the Dubai Week website was relaunched and is gaining significant traction, along with its social media platforms, in what is a competitive marketplace. All content is originally-produced by my great team and the quality of the design and content has allowed us to quickly gain a loyal readership as well as impressive statistics across our social media and online platforms. Other elements of my role include managing a tight-knit team under tight deadlines and often great pressure. We are constantly asking ourselves what can we do improve the final product and make sure that production process is as efficient as possible.
