Development, implementation, and maintenance of flight simulation software. Position is a hybrid of numerical methods, engineering mechanics, and software engineering/development. Experience includes: testing, model development, model verification, numerical analysis, code review, version control, customer feedback process, documentation.Recent projects:Development and implementation of aflight mechanics submodule for a larger proprietary flight simulation code (C++). Development and implementation of a 6DOF force transfer function/module for a larger flight simulation code (C++).

• Reformed a PhD level course in advanced dynamics to include computational component. Traditional course focused on derivations of equations of motion only. Reformulated course taught students symbolic programming, numerical solution, and mechanism animation of advanced problems using MATLAB.• Taught Dynamics undergraduate course. Taught PhD level courses in Advanced Dynamics.• Highly successful delivery of online, PhD level coursework to support the university during a pandemic environment.

• Used ABAQUS to perform probabilistic (load resistance factor design) finite element modeling on spillway gates. Used MATLAB to perform statistical analysis on load and resistance data, including generation of numerical probability density functions from field data.• Technical reviewer for reliability/ load resistance factor design (LRFD). • Used proprietary C++ discrete element method codes to solve a coupled set of thousands of ordinary differential equations and integrate them forward in time in support of a sea ice mechanics project. Characterized sea ice fracture in the Beaufort Sea region.• Used FORTRAN to investigate high order methods in finite element elastodynamics research.• Formulated novel techniques to mitigate Runge’s phenomenon for high-order discretizations in support of a boundary element research project.• Wrote and submitted multiple DoD proposals in integral equations, generating high interest.

• Published peer-reviewed manuscripts in the area of Integral Equations.• Formulated novel high-order algorithms in integral equations from scratch and applied them to modern problems. Wrote supporting computer codes from scratch in FORTRAN, MATLAB. Increased accuracy over the state of the art by over four orders of magnitude.• Developed advanced numerical integration techniques for singular integrals. Substantially increased accuracy over conventional methods.

Courses taught: EGR 2413 Statics

• Formulated 6DOF equations of motion for a rocket and wrote a numerical methods code to solve a coupled set of ordinary differential equations. Rocket was constructed at the University of South Alabama and launched at the 2014 NASA launch site in the Utah Salt Flats. Error in observed missile height versus numerical prediction was less than 1%.• Developed a linear-regression and Monte Carlo methods scheme to take locally sampled wind data and generate a solution space for landing sites.
