About Juan Pablo Mendiola
Madrid (Spain), 1974.I've been trained as an actor and director in various centers such as the Escuela del Actor, the Nuria Espert Theatre Institute and the EMT Mislata.Training with Andrés Lima, Juan Carlos Gené, Lilo Baur, Joaquim Candeias, Roberto Garcia, Paco Zarzoso, Hernán Gené, Pepe Galotto, Jaime Pujol, Vincent Genovese, Amparo Fernández, Josep Manel Casany, Pep Ricart, Pastor and Empar Toni Puig.Since 2001 I teach different groups of the Municipal School of Theatre in Mislata (a little town in Valencia) where i develope other of my interests including playwriting and stage direction. For 4 years I am in charge of the Laboratory Group which developed a research project looking for new languages and creative processes.I combine my acting and theater work with my interest in new technologies and their application within the performing arts.On a professional level I have done work as an actor, assistant director, author, director and lighting designer for different companies as L'Horta Theatre, Dramaturgia 2000, Maduixa Teatre, Teatre de L'ull, Tarannà Teatre, Juja, Ornitorrincs or Albena Teatre.For my latest work in finding new performing languages for theater aimed at children and families have received several awards and recognitions in Spain.In 2012 I create PanicMap - Scenic Projects with Margarita Burbano. A project that integrates technology and arts. The first production of the company is Harket [protocolo], currently on tour.
