- Research grant, funded by "Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia".- Development of an interactive visual analytics platform for competitive intelligence.- Usage of various Natural Language Processing and visualization techniques. - Use text preprocessing and embedding techniques to encode a large corpus of text as well as Self-Organizing Maps, an unsupervised neural network that facilitates the development of multiple machine learning tasks and visualize high dimensional data.

- Exploring the applications and limitations of artificial intelligence algorithms to perform automatic updates of Land Use/Land Cover maps for the Portuguese mainland.- Exploration of new data filtering/anomaly detection algorithms, as well as dimensionality reduction techniques and different types of classification algorithms, including ensemble methods and deep learning classifiers.- Processed large volumes of remotely sensed data to produce level-3 products for land applications by applying Supervised and Active learning techniques.

Volunteer project. Integrated a team of four data scientists to research and develop a method to analyze social media discourse around natural disasters in developing countries in partnership with the International Water Management Institute (IWMI).Collaborative effort to develop data collection, preprocessing, feature extraction and analysis methods. Most of the tasks done were centered around the exploration of state-of-the-art Natural Language Processing algorithms.

Data Science for Social Good research group. Tourism Management project. - Used digital traces created by tourists (social media, telecom and Airbnb data) with the goal of understanding and improving the efficiency of tourism flows in Portugal and specifically in the region of Lisbon.- Studied the potential of Big data to inform destination management organizations using three sources of Big data: Telecom, Social media and Airbnb data.- Developed tools for tourism flows visualization and analysis using Network Science methods.- Developed a Social Media Crawler software capable of fetching, storing and visualizing data of three major social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).

Nova Tech Club is a student association with 25 members powered by the Nova School of Business and Economics, with the goal of setting the bridge between business and finance students and the technology industry.President throughout the fall semester:- Introduced KPIs into the club- Coordinated recruitment sessions- Motivate members by giving them clear team and individual goals while maintaining their independence- Restructured teams' roles and individual tasksBoard Advisor throughout the spring semester:- Created and taught in Python workshops oriented to Data Science for Club members- Assist and advise the President whenever necessary for a successful role transition- Assisted in the establishment of new partnerships with other Nova organisations- Represented the club in Nova events

As a team member in the fall semester, I was responsible for contacted companies and organised corporate events.In the spring semester I was the Head of the Corporate Events team, where I managed a team of 4 persons, contacted companies and organised 2 corporate presentations and 1 student competitions.

- Set up necessary infrastructures for the work and activities developed throughout the program.

Developed dashboards using Qlik Sense, used SQL and Access to perform customer P&L analysis and ranked by customer segments and developed reports using the company’s databases.

Several training sessions regarding the organization of the conferenceand performed surveys to attendees as part of the Operations Team of Web Summit.
