Software Technical Team Leader / Tms Product ManagerMitrefinch Ltd Jan 2010 - Dec 2013YorkAfter the successful roll out of TMS version 6 and 7 I am now leading the software team across all of the Mitrefinch products. This includes TMS, our Time Management System, Flexipay, our payroll software, Rostering, our latest software package for auto rostering staff to jobs and the firmware on our hardware terminals. As the technical team leader I am responsible for the day to day running of the software team working closely with the test team leader, the overall product development manager, our SMEs for each of our software products as well as our software solution architect. This includes making sure the software procedures, guidelines and methodologies are known and followed by the software team as well as constantly reviewing these to make sure we are always delivering on time and on budget.Technology moves fast and so part of my role is to ensure that our solution remains flexible enough to cope with these changes. Whether it be making sure our solution works on an ipad or winRT or that we can embrace new ways of delivering this technology via cloud solutions. I also spend time keeping up to date with the latest technology in order to explain what it means for Mitrefinch at the board level as well as being able to discuss this at a technical level with the software team.I continue to work as TMS PRODUCT MANAGER and help out with technical sales demos for our larger customers as well as travelling across the country and the world to ensure that the Mitrefinch products continue to meet our customers expectations.

Tms V6 Software Team Leader / Tms Product ManagerMitrefinch Ltd Aug 2008 - Jan 2010YorkDuring 2008 myself and colleagues successfully put forward a strategy for upgrading the existing software architecture to follow an MVP methodology. This strategy has enabled Mitrefinch to quickly respond to changes in technology as the core business logic remains unchanged while the interface can be continuously updated (E.g. Webforms to Silverlight to html5). As well as leading the team in porting over a 1/4 of a million lines of code from delphi to c# I was also then involved in the rollout of this major new version throughout the company and customer base. This involved working with and training Sales, Marketing, Implementation engineers, support engineers as well as key stakeholders across the world. As part of the roll out activities I also took on the role of TMS PRODUCT MANAGER. This has involved presenting the key note presentations at our Annual User groups and responding to customer and stakeholder feedback in order to continuously improve the TMS product. I regularly attend sales demos for our larger prospects and clients and have made many presentations to FTSE100 companies at board level. This often involves explaining the benefits of our products to the CEOs, Financial Directors, HR Directors, Operations Directors etc of many companies throughout the UK and the rest of the world.

Senior Software EngineerBae Systems Jan 2003 - Jun 2007Hull, United KingdomHawk AJT Software Team - Initially a software engineer I was promoted to Senior Software Engineer in 2005. As part of the Hawk AJT Software Team I worked on a number of projects. This included:HEADS DOWN DISPLAY TEAMAs part of this team I was responsible for developing the UI for the head down displays. Working with the MMI team, the Pilots and the test team we developed the displays using ADA and OpenGL. Since the work was safety critical in nature we also used Spark ADA to mathematically prove the design of the software as well as using UML to analyse and design new functionality. FLIGHT SIMULATION AND PLAYBACK FACILITYI was also involved in the research and development of a flight simulation and playback facility for the Hawk Ground based team. Primarily written in C++ one of the major challenges was converting power pc based instructions over to intel and resolving endian representation issues.MOVING MAPThe moving map application was written using a separate C library called from an ADA application. I was solely responsible for the design and implementation of the moving map application as well as managing the 3rd party vendor. -
