I served as the health informatics executive for Trinity Health's largest region across eight hospitals and two large, employed physician groups that represented 1700+ providers and 34000+ colleagues.My responsibilities included establishing strategic direction for health informatics at Trinity Health in coordination with leadership that acted as building block for infrastructure of enterprise information systems.Below are some of my achievements:► Integrated and directed various disparate informatics teams across eight hospitals and two medical groups to single team of 100+ members, attaining 94% positivity on local leadership and 98% positivity on improvement readiness metrics with 0% having intentions to leave, all greater than 90th percentile in organization.► Executed unified Epic platform across eight hospitals and two large medical groups to achieve Epic Level 9 Gold Star rating with 85% feature adoption and >60% MyChart (patient portal) enrollment rate representing over 600,000 patients.► Acted as accountable executive and directed execution of conversion to integrated state-wide lab information system across 496 departments.► Deployed COVID temperature sensing technology for patient and employee health screening within six months, resulting in state and federal compliance, a $145600 per FTE decrease in labor costs, and a $218000/year increase in operating income.► Implemented proof-of-concept project using Nuance's DAX auto-scribe platform to reduce physician document burden that resulted in 66% reduction in provider-contributed text, a 32% reduction in note-taking time per appointment, and 28% reduction in note-taking time per day.► Facilitated data sharing to meet federal "Promoting Interoperability" requirement, enhance data sharing, and avoid $6,711,001 fine.► Implemented systems access and security team to optimize clinical and operational system access across entire enterprise, saving organization more than $800,000.

Delivered comprehensive family medicine services to primary care patients. Provided both inpatient, outpatient and obstetrical care initially and continued outpatient care until departure. Moved to Mercy Health Physician Partners (Trinity Health Medical Group) Innovative Primary Care (IPC) office to provide care within the environment where we were deploying and evaluating new and emerging technologies.► Liaised closely with Medical Director of IPC on several initiatives, while assisting innovation projects simultaneously.

As the Regional Ambulatory Chief Medical Information Officer, I led health informatics for one of Trinity Health's largest physician groups in West Michigan.My duties comprised of acting as liaison between network and providers, while supporting efficient use of current and future information technologies.Moreover, I implemented and optimized various system EHRs (Cerner PowerChart Office, Cerner PowerWorks, NextGen and athenahealth) and several other health information technology platforms to develop more integrated approach.► Grew from two colleagues to team of thirty including a regional director, two managers, two project analysts, eighteen ambulatory application specialist positions, a clinical process excellence resource, two systems analysts and four physician informaticists roles allowing us to implement and support far more sites and projects effectively.► Implemented regional ambulatory help desk that improved support for all colleagues.► Very successful performance satisfying federal Meaningful Use requirements.► Created organizational reporting and analytics solutions to deliver more timely and actionable information.
