As a dedicated athlete and captain of every team I joined, I developed a strong sense of leadership and resilience from a young age. My personal experience with sports injuries ignited a passion for medical device design, leading me to pursue a double major in Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at the Florida Institute of Technology. Currently, I am advancing my knowledge as a Medical Technology Design student at Duke University.Throughout my academic journey, I have consistently demonstrated a commitment to innovation and excellence. During my time at the Florida Department of Transportation, I authored a comprehensive safety document for the Traffic Ops Department, which was distributed across Southeast Florida counties. My internships at TrueCare Biomedix and Starlab Elite Gym provided me with hands-on experience in quality product testing, market analysis, and performance data evaluation. At TrueCare Biomedix, I was apart of quality product testing for IV sets, diagnosing defects and optimizing product performance. I also conducted comprehensive market and competitor analyses to inform strategic decisions. Additionally, I managed customer relations by actively engaging with end-users, gathering feedback, and utilizing insights to shape product and feature roadmaps. Representing TrueCare Biomedix at the Florida International Medical Expo (FIME) 2023, I networked and stayed abreast of industry trends and innovations. In my senior design projects, I joined a biomedical engineering project late and led the team to develop a vein finder with capabilities for extracting vein depth and projecting the view onto the skin, securing second place in the university showcase. I also assisted in developing training equipment for lacrosse, implementing motion tracking to meet essential specifications and outperforming an actual player by a minimum of 10% in speed and strength. My research experience includes investigating the effects of meditation on stress recovery time and cognitive performance. Additionally, I modeled dynamic systems such as ECG signals using Python, validating simulations with real-world acquired data. I also simulated blood flow through a healthy and unhealthy aorta using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) on Ansys, identifying a 50% increase in pressure in the aorta with an aneurysm.Driven by a relentless pursuit of self-improvement and a passion for enhancing patient outcomes, my goal is transform novel medical device concepts into practical solutions that enhance patient recovery and quality of life.
