I started early building the skillset I have today, playing with computers and electronics as a child, even selling some of my DOS-based programs while still in public school. When I later became an engineer and then a Ph. D, it wasn't a planned career move as such, but just something that came naturally. I'm one of the co-founders of GreenSteam. The time at GreenSteam has been an exciting journey, where I have had the chance to work with the things I like the most. I created our first version of the data collection system used onboard, primarily geared towards time-series data. This system was used for many years without any major changes, collecting waste amounts of data. I designed a secure infrastructure to communicate with the ships, audited by an external company, which deemed it of a high standard and fulfilling all the requirements. We were a couple of steps ahead here, as I had just finished my M. Sc. thesis a few years earlier within the field of Computer Security. I also co-designed the hardware solution used onboard the vessels and developed the software to collect the data. At the start, because the company was small, I was often onboard doing surveys, installing, or maintaining hardware, and this gave a good insight into how the equipment worked and a chance to interact with the crews, and also an opportunity to travel around the world.My Ph. D. thesis revolved around the modeling used for our Dynamic Trim Optimization (DTO), which is marked leading to this day. With the work done in the Ph.D., we got a much better insight into modeling problems involved and were able to get to the next level. As part of the Ph. D. I created a Machine Learning library, PyPR, which is still used by the DTO.Since the Ph.
