Hi, I’m JP. I’m an App Developer II for KDOT and Centriq Full Stack Coding Program graduate with a B.A. from KU.I work on ASP.NET Core Web APIs at KDOT, mostly consisting of modernizing internal applications - using C# and Angular. I've rebuilt legacy apps in both vanilla JS, and Typescript, using Tailwind CSS, utilizing media queries and working with users to develop the UX they had in mind. I've built and published 2 apps that each work in tandem with their own APIs that I rebuilt. I drive backend development and optimization using C# and MSSQL, creating and enhancing middleware and processes along the way. In these apps I work with ArcGIS (Esri objects), Excel (many reports in the app were tied to XML), and Power BI (I created multiple Power BI reports for future integration into said apps).Leading the bi-weekly meetings for these projects and making progress by working one on one with users has been very rewarding for me. I have also been digging into new tech religiously lately. Please check out my personal projects section below.Skateboarding led me to web development. I’ve been sponsored and in a few videos, so I learned how to film and produce videos of my own, and eventually made a local skate video website that was active for a decade. I love how videos can tell a concise story, just like a website should. Keeping a website streamlined is just as important to me as keeping a skate video interesting. (YouTube: JP Redmon)My volunteer work for Lawrence Skaters Association has also been rewarding. I advocate, raise money for skateparks, and sometimes design them - with the help of many friends. I coordinate builds and do grunt labor at Edgewood DIY, and was integral in campaigning for and getting surveys filled out in order for Centennial Skatepark to get into the city’s CIP budget and get a 250k revamp in 2024.My last position was a Paratransit driver, where I learned the importance of customer care. I met the specific needs of the elderly and disabled for 12 years. For the last 5 of those years I had a demanding part time job as a Team Manager, Content Creator, and Event organizer for a skateboard company.
