Joao Pedro has been in the Geospatial and Earth Observation industries for over 20 years, with special focus on Government, Transportation and Water Utilities sectors.He currently acts as Sales Director (Portugal) at Baseform, a SaaS for urban water utilities, addressing the efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability of urban water services. Previously, he served as Business Advisor at Planetek Italia, helping to grow International Sales of Rheticus, a satellite data monitoring services platform. Before joining Planetek, has played various technical and management roles at Intergraph Portugal (now Hexagon), including web applications developer, Project Manager and Technical Director, overseeing presales, marketing, professional services and customer support activities. In 2013, he joined the new Hexagon Geospatial division as EMEA Presales Manager and later, in 2017, as Technical Account Manager. He also served as Channel Sales Manager South Europe (2018-19), and Director of Global Partner Program (2020).He represented for several years Hexagon Geospatial at European associations, including EARSC and EUROGI. At EUROGI, was a member of the ExCom from 2017 to 2019, and then as Industry Advisor, contributing to the organization Strategy with Geospatial Industry Trends.His areas of interest intersect the fields of Earth Observation and Geospatial Intelligence with Smart Cities, Infrastructure Management, Utilities, Strategy, International Management and Innovation.João Pedro holds an Environmental Engineering degree from the New University of Lisbon, a Master of Science in GIS from the Technical University of Lisbon and a MBA, from the Lisbon School of Economics and Management. He also holds a PMP® certification from the Project Management Institute and several advanced sales leadership trainings.Sports have carved his self-motivated, goal-oriented, resilient and collaborative mindset. After 20 yrs. competing as a handball goal-keeper, he currently balances his free time between family, surfing and preparing for the next triathlon challenge.
