About Jean-Pierre Serfontein

JP is an engineer passionate about engineer. He completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Aeronautical) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2007. He started his career at then Denel Saab Aerostructures as a stress engineer. Since then he has been working on the Airbus A400M Project until 2016. In 2012 he joined Aerosud fulfilling both a stress and qualification engineering role on the Airbus A400M work packages. In 2016 he moved to the research and development department as a senior R&D project engineer and also kicked off his Masters in Engineering Degree journey at Stellenbosch University, in the Industrial Engineering department. JP oversaw additive manufacturing and sheet metal forming technology development projects at Aerosud with collaboration partners locally and abroad. In January 2021, JP successfully defended his master's research and graduated in March (sadly in absentia). September 1st, 2021 marked the start of a new venture at Dragonfly Aerospace in Stellenbosch, South Africa as a Senior Project Engineer.
