I build DevOps products including UrbanCode and Bluemix.Saw UrbanCode Release product through transition to IBM and built the UrbanCode Release business. Lead UrbanCode cloud offerings including UrbanCode mobile, pivoting to what became Velocity.

Lead UrbanCode Engineering through first year of life for UrbanCode Deploy.Lead Product Management and Engineering for UrbanCode Release product from concept through launch. Assisted with due diligence process for IBM acquisition.

• Launched Release Engineering / DevOps practice automating build & deploymentacross eight product lines.• Served VP of Development and eventually the CTO by leading agile transformation, training & coaching seventeen product teams amplifying a grassroots movement.Technical projects / roles:• As a coder on a large-scale, high-stakes electronic testing system supporting authoring, administering, delivering, scoring and reporting for state and national assessments and handling test counts measured in hundreds of thousands daily, I contributed features, frameworks, improved design and automated builds.• As principal architect of a distributed contribution system, I lead a small team which applied the Eclipse/OSGI plugin system to federated web apps so that specific functionality could be upgraded while other site functions—even on the same page—remained undisturbed.• As a solo developer I built, NodeSync, a system for distributing AFP print files to high-speed printers at multiple sites. Stringent requirements for synchronization w/ robust fault tolerance to network disruptions and hardware failure.• As a software coach I embedded with 17 product teams (200+ developers) for two to twelve months ea., pairing with coders, assisting testers, mentoring product owners & scrummasters. PearsonAccess was among the more complex products with which I assisted.• As first leader of the Release Engineering practice, I designed systems, wrote code, and lead a team which built an eight-node build farm and deployment system which handled 90,000+ builds and 7,000+ deployments for 550+ code projects in 2010.

Lead presentation tier team for PearsonAccess: Standards & Assessment module and assisted with complex SCM and code integration effort (150+ engineers contributing to codebase and configuration data).

Sole full-time developer on loan processing system responsible for originating and servicing a student loan portfolio which accounted for a substantial percentage of annual revenues.
