Currently conducting research and engaging in grant-writing to support various initiatives involvingtransfer student success in STEM through improving equitable pathways, as well as improving graduate student mentoring, and promoting an entrepreneurial mindset for teaching effective graduate mentorship practices.

Responsible for providing grading support for mid-level weekly student assignments in SolidWorks classes led by other graduate instructors. Provided remote proctoring support where necessary.

I am responsible for engaging approx. 40-50 freshmen/sophomore/junior engineering students within sections of the ENGR 2080 (SolidWorks) class. Aside from preparing and delivering instructional lectures, I also developed supplementary tutorial videos and employed active learning techniques to emphasize student-centered learning. I was also responsible for classroom management, project and small assignment grading, and collaborating with fellow graduate instructors at weekly meetings.

I taught and led junior-undergraduate labs, accompanying lectures with topics from DAQ, signal processing, thermodynamics, fluids, and HVAC. I engaged in teamwork with my fellow TAs to train new TAs each semester, and I also fully edited and added new modules to the written student and TA lab manuals. In addition, I was responsible for overhauling all junior-level MechEng labs and lab reports to new formats. In the summer of 2020, I developed innovative, engaging instructional videos to support student learning in the labs during the rapid transition to online labs and online teaching during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Duties include coordinating tutoring schedule and all department tutors, and teaching complex engineering concepts in freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior level engineering classes to peers.

Completing a ten week internship in the department of physico-chemical surface interactions at Robert Bosch GmbH as part of the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) Professional program. Working primarily with corrosion test chambers and performing data analysis to optimize the climate corrosion tests for parts manufactured by Bosch.

Research involved helping doctoral student test his newly developed high speed and corrosion resistant steels for hardness and wear resistance at elevated temperatures, and compare them to samples of industry standard high speed steels.
