The Shipboard Program Coordinator (PC) works hand and hand with the Captain and Mate and Education Coordinator and other staff as part of the leadership team. Together, they facilitate shipboard programs that Educate-Inspire-Empower youth of all ages aboard the Adventuress. The Captain, Mate and PC work together in determining the needs of the group and adjusting programs accordingly. The PC runs all program related activities, is involved in crew training, schedules crew time off , and works with teachers and group leaders in ensuring the implementation of the Sound Experience mission. The PC maintains communication between the office and the ship to help ensure program information is relayed.

This position is responsible for assisting with the delivery of a broad range of youth development programs, which drive increased participation in an outcome-driven Club experience. The Teen Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily Teen program to ensure quality targeted programming and priority outcomes. This includes accountability for member recruitment/enrollment and program management, day to day supervision of program staff, family involvement, school relationships, summer program management and assuring that members are provided with programming that promotes physical activity, pro-social engagement, community service, career and academic development. The Teen Program Coordinator is expected to share best practices and collaborate effectively with their peers across the organization and in the community. They have a role in organizational program operations, supporting county-wide efforts to increase our effectiveness and engagement with Teens in our region.

Teaching, mentoring and facilitating college students through Environmental Education, experiential education practicum, Spring Block. This is part of the Environmental Education Major at Huxley College of the Environment.

Supervised campers for week long programs, organize activity schedule, plan and take 8-10 girls on offsite outdoor adventure trips, maintain trip equipment.

Bellingham, Washington Area

Taught high school students on Sucia Island, 5th and 6th graders at Gordon Carter Conservation Site, designed lesson plans and curriculum for various ages, participated in a 10 day Wilderness backpacking expedition in Stehekin. This is part of the Environmental Education Major at Huxley College of the Environment. The quarter is called, Spring Block and is an experiential education practicum.
