Hi there! My name is Jazzy Pedroza-Watson. I'm a proud queer Mexican American and work on the marketing team at Focus Lighting. With 3 years of marketing and communications experience, I bring great time management, a positive spirit, and fresh ideas to existing marketing strategies for each company I work for.In my current role, I created the current marketing strategy, stepping into a role that has been vacant for 5 years. While simultaneously being educated in lighting design, in less than a year, I have audited and updated the existing social media presence and website, created an email marketing strategy, wrote and submitted 10+ award submissions, and have written articles for publications such as aspire, Interior Design, Kitchen Bathroom Business, and Business of Home. Quickly after moving to New York City, I originated an administrative assistant position in the Advancement office at Professional Children’s School and quickly worked my way up to a communications assistant. I was trusted with managing the two existing social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram after I executed a full audit of the PCS social media presence, implementing a cohesive and well-defined brand, which I to analyzed and updated weekly. I increased Instagram reach 40% and Facebook reach 150% from July 2023 to January 2024 using Meta Analytics and I created a presence on LinkedIn, Twitter, and TikTok. I was incredibly passionate about running the social media platforms for the school, creating visibility for the niche specialty, and curating a community where students and alumni can network. I am also proud of the work that I did in aiding in the fundraising that makes the scholarship program possible.A graduate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance, and became certified on multiple social media Marketing platforms in the university's School of Business. During my time in school, I served as President, Events Chair, and Secretary at Blazer Theatre Organization for over four years. I successfully executed the digital marketing, planning, and hosting of over 10 annual events. I also played a crucial role in recruiting 75% of new members over 4 years, contributing significantly to the post-pandemic recovery of the organization. My theatre degree and love for marketing make me a unique job candidate because of my inventiveness, empathy, and exceptional social skills.
