First and foremost, I am dedicated to keeping people safe, committed to reducing harm, and a strong advocate for tackling inequality. Through the Drugs and Justice All Party Parliamentary Group, I am campaigning for addiction to be included as a protected characteristic within the Equality Act.As an experienced educator and facilitator in drug and alcohol awareness, I deliver the latest evidence-based material to help promote positive behaviour change, healthier choices, or harm reduction. I'm an advisor to the UK National Drug Education Forum, fusing the learning from my role as a member of the Faculty of Public Health and as an academic fellow at the University of South Wales. I enjoy working with Schools, universities, businesses, and justice.My career is interwoven with drug policy and the intersection of justice and health, I'm seen, internationally by governments, Police, health, and academia as a trusted, balanced voice on justice and health policies. I will carefully navigate the most difficult conversations to present evidence and go above and beyond to co-produce a positive new framework, which provides positive outcomes for individuals, policing, and communities.I am exceptionally proud to have jointly developed the UK's pre-arrest drug diversion policy, and continue sharing the UK experience with international policing and inter-governmental organisations. I thoroughly enjoy public speaking, I thrive in respectfully challenging the status quo.I honestly feel that I am living my best life, I am privileged to work with charities and Governments, and at every opportunity I convey the voices of people with lived experience to inform policy.
