Directed team in driving cross-departmental service-oriented architecture objectives, providing a unified REST Web API tier across a 5+ million line code base, implemented elastic service discovery and health monitoring and a scalable virtual file system offering storage into billions of objects.

Directed all data center appliance development for 10 distinct machines, and led a second software group focused on development of the custom operating system and platform software. Direct design work with In-Q-Tel driving our technology integration, PoC and compliance initiatives for field DoD and IC applications. Listed as inventor on over 25 patents awarded for new ideas and methods in information theory, k-of-n systems, self-healing system design and distributed systems. Acquired by IBM for $1.3BB.

A unique idea born out of our university incubation, the product was conceptualized to offer a completely new approach to very large distributed data storage, intended to replace RAID and replication at the uppermost boundary of modern storage capacity. Provides bit-perfect storage guarantees and used in the largest storage installations in the world, with one public-record design documented at 10 Exabytes in 2012. As a member of the initial team I drove core technology invention, development and execution from the mathematical concept through business execution. Transitioned into a management roll hereafter.

Created a new highly-distributed search engine capable of accepting natural language queries for the retrieval of data across numerous source media types. Designed a variety of new algorithms for performing indexing and search across structured and unstructured text, in addition to video and audio. Multi-year project backed by the DoD.
