It helps my own mood and brightens the mood of my teammates if I can be the cheery and happy person around. When I am not helping improve the grind at work, I am at home enjoying a different grind. Gaming keeps my attention as there are constant goals to go reach for and obtain. It keeps me connected to many friends states or continents away.
