Holmes Group represents a group of Engineering and related businesses with over 500 staff across offices in New Zealand, Australia, the USA and the Netherlands.As General Counsel for the parent company, Holmes Group Limited, I advised on a variety of corporate and commercial matters for the Group, administered Corporate Governance and managed the Group's litigation and insurance arrangements.

I worked as an Associate with Logan Gold Walsh Lawyers Limited, working mainly in personal client, trust, commercial, and entertainment law areas. I developed particular expertise in:- Commercial Syndications- Business Sales and Purchases;- Property Conveyancing and Commercial Leases;- Trusts;- Licensing Agreements;- Chain of Title and other Rights Agreements for the Entertainment Industry;- International Distribution and Sales Agreements;- Commercial Agreements generally.

I assumed overall responsibility for the Sales and Marketing unit of the New Zealand Film Commission. I managed support for domestic distribution and directly sold New Zealand films to local and international distributors. In my time with the NZFC this included orchestrating New Zealand's participation at key A-list film markets and festivals for the purposes of promoting and selling New Zealand films. I regularly attended Sundance, Berlin, Cannes, Toronto and Venice International Film Festivals and the European Film Market, Marche du Film and American Film Market in Los Angeles. I was invited to speak at national and international film conferences including the Big Screen Symposium, Korean National Film Conference in Seoul and Global Media Summit in Los Angeles.I began my career with the NZFC as Business Affairs Executive (a legal and commercial advisory role), a position I held until 2009. During that time I negotiated the NZFC's distribution and sales agency agreements and completed film finance for numerous films including international co-productions with countries such as the UK and Germany.
