My name is James Bancroft, and I am an alumnus of the Darla Moore School of Business at University of South Carolina. Since graduating I have gained tremendous amounts of experience in financial statement analysis, financial planning, and financial controlling in my time as a finance intern at SencorpWhite. Working alongside and shadowing the financial controller, CFO, and president I have gained insight into creating healthy day to day operations, planning for future success, and reestablishing company culture and structure to drive profits and gain market share. With expertise in mathematics, accounting, and data analytics I am ready to pursue opportunities in a variety of financial positions in my search for a fulfilling career. I am well versed in R, SQL, and Manfact (an older system) and have yet to be stumped by any coding language. I also thrive using PowerBI, Excel, and Access and enjoy the intricacies and planning that go into database management.In addition to my technological savviness, I have demonstrated leadership ability throughout my whole life - a peer mentor and team captain in high school, an untrusted and successful private tutor to over 15 students in my time in college, and trainer of new staff at my internship due to fast turnovers during restructuring. My leadership style is not domineering, but rather focused on helping others grow. I believe the best contributions to a team are not shown but are found. In a constantly evolving world, all opinions and perspectives should be welcome in the search for an optimal solution not simply an answer to a problem. I also consider myself to be a keen salesman spending 7 years working in oceanfront fine dining on Cape Cod, MA. In my 3 years as a server, I have recorded record sales days for the restaurant and have amassed a steady group of regular customers who enjoy coming to see me almost weekly.Furthermore, I have traveled to the Carribean, South America, South Africa, all around the USA and spent the Fall of 2024 traveling across Europe working on my cultural literacy. Engaging with people of other cultures has been the greatest learning experience of all. I believe my emersion in so many different cultures has taught me a lot about people and has vastly increased my emotional intelligence allowing me to connect with people I never thought I could.
