My industry experience has been almost entirely in Customer-Facing businesses, with the past 2 decades focused on the execution and management of the Production Infrastructures that support technology-enabled businesses.Our success, since inception, has been that we do more than break/fix IT support. Always considering the business-goals of my clients, I've conditioned the company to team up with the client's business units to fulfill their technology needs. In absence of a dedicated Client IT Management team, I provide feedback on performance and input for planning and budgeting.

Independent IT Operations consultant; working as intermediary for business leaders and IT Teams, I bring to the equation years of management experience and the customer liaison experience that IT Operations teams often lack.Notable accomplishments:- Worked with an IT job-shop for a restructuring: helped align staff assignments and to make manpower adjustments that reduced cost, and laid the ground work for new lines of business.- Redefined the roles and responsibilities of a struggling IT team, in doing so helped the Executive staff to redirect resources to the Engineering group. The effect was to improve product release and quality, and to streamline IT support to the company

Hired to create and manage a Customer Services organization. However the rapid decline in the Dot-Com market place caused downsizing of the company during which I took responsibility for managing daily operations in Manufacturing and in Sales.

As an early member of this Xerox PARC start-up, I proposed and managed the implementation of the production infrastructure.

Working closely with the founders, I helped to scale up the design and build process giving us the ability to produce integrated systems and networks able to support large production sites - involving dozens of systems - within days of receiving the design goals.

Led the IT Operations group in the management of a 24x7 production infrastructure. Quote.com was an early provider of stock market ticker and and news information. During the period before its acquisition, Quote.com provided back-end data used by the large discount brokerages ( Schwab, Fidelity, E-Trade, Olde, and others)

During the spin-out from Global Village, I managed the IT Operations group. Responsible for daily technical operations, data center support, customer satisfaction. I remained with Global Center until they were acquired.

Managed production operations of DHL's US-based systems and network infrastructure. Responsible for local network and business support systems, desktop support, field support, and help-desk operations.

1983 - 1988 Director of Technical Operations.Managed 24x7 Call Center, Technical Support, Sustaining Engineering, and Systems Management. Founding member of the company and creator of these departments; proposed and implemented the organizations, managed for five years.1988 - 1993 Director of EducationDirected the growth of the Educational Services group as a P&L center, to a $2MM annual revenue operation operating in training centers around the country.

Developed support strategy and planning for new product introduction. Worked as liaison between Customer Support and Engineering, negotiating Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability goals and standards.
