Janice R. Crump is President of JRC Communications, a media relations firm that provides communications services to small nonprofit and for profit companies and organizations, giving them access to the tools and talents they need to publicize their products, grow their businesses, and conduct successful events and meetings. Previously she was Senior Director for Special Projects on staff at the Committee on House Administration in the U.S. Congress. Crump served as the primary orchestrator of the Committee's special projects and events. She started out as the Committee's Communications Director, and was the chief contact for the dissemination of press information. Crump planned and implemented the unvieling of WOMEN IN CONGRESS: 1917 - 2006, and BLACK AMERICANS IN CONGRESS: 1870 - 2007, both major publications of the Committee on House Administration. She was also the key organizer for Chairman Robert A. Brady's (D-PA) first Minority Procurement Conference in 2007, an event that brought several hundred small business owners from all over America, together with procurement officers in major Federal agencies. Her work in news and public affairs began with a stint at WTVD 11 News, where she was a reporter, producer, and award-winning executive producer. She also served as Press Secretary for Congresswoman Eva M. Clayton (D-NC-Ret.), and as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs under HUD Secretary Henry G. Cisneros. After leaving HUD, Crump worked with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc. (CBCF), a nonpartisan, nonprofit educational institute.
