Joyce Rocelle Talavera Email and Phone Number
"Hopefully, one day, we can turn community organizing to community giving because it's the same thing."Hello, there! My name is Joyce Talavera, and I am a second-year Master of Public Policy candidate at the Goldman School of Public Policy. I have been lucky enough to benefit from a system that believed in me -- even as a low-income, first-generation student. In this, I learned very early on the importance of education and giving back. I'm always looking to deepen my knowledge and skills to continue advocating for my community and communities like mine. My interdisciplinary framework allows me to tackle policy areas from an intersectionality-focused lens, zeroing in on factors of socioeconomic status and race. I hope to increase educational opportunities for all learners despite their ability to perform under a standardized system. In community,Joyce
