Jim has over 40 years experience in the petroleum industry. He is currently an independent reservoir engineering consultant (JRG Reservoir Engineering, LLC) working as Client Support at Stone Ridge Technology developer of Echelon (GPU Reservoir Simulator) as well as an advisor at iReservoir.com where he is involved in providing integrated reservoir characterization and modeling services to the petroleum industry using the state-of-the-art geoscience and engineering technologies. Work has included unconventional reservoir studies (including rich gas injection EOR), high temperature – high pressure gas, gas condensate recycling, EOR simulation (including CO2), ranking of geologic models and simulation of naturally fractured reservoirs.Jim's expertise includes specialization in application and development of numerical simulators for fluid flow in petroleum reservoirs. He worked at Marathon Oil Company’s Technology Center for over 22 years where he was a co-developer of a 3-D, 3-phase simulator for naturally fractured reservoirs. Jim has authored or co-authored numerous articles dealing primarily with naturally fractured reservoirs, horizontal wells and reservoir simulation. Jim has been active in SPE serving as chairman of the SPE Books and Monograph Committees, a member of the SPE Primer committee and Vice-Chairman of a NFR Forum.
