Performed defensive cyber operations (DCO) tasks for a United States Air Force pilot Mission Defense and Cyber Defense Correlation Cell. This role required 24x7 monitoring of a critical communications network used to provide Command and Control over U.S. space assets. Using tools such as Manticore, LogRhythm, HBSS, Snort and Bro Network Analyzer, we ensured missions were conducted without foreign or domestic threat interference. The MDT was responsible for all protect, detect and response functions of modern day cyber security operations. In this role my skills in custom tool development and process automation were highly utilized to increase the department’s effectiveness while working around tight budgetary constraints.• Developed several custom tools to include a case management system and pcap collection tool• Created two procedures for interdepartmental communication, improving incident response capabilities• Awarded the first ever “Analyst of the Month” award recognizing activities that went “above and beyond”• Part of a team to construct the Operating Instruction for the new CDCC-S department• Integral in the development consulting of the new ELK based manticore system
