For over 6 years, I have worked in a stem cell research lab at Kansas State University experimenting with many cell types including rat embryonic stem cells and human mesenchymal stromal cells. My graduate research developed a new way to isolate and expand human umbilical cord mesenchymal stromal cells. This protocol was published and I have 3 patent applications related to this project either completed or in process. Through my research, I have developed new protocols and further developed the understanding with mesenchymal stromal cells. I have experience with primary isolates, expansion in culture, a variety of characterization techniques and cryopreservation.
