Profile bio

About Jeremy R.

At present, I am an independent consultant who works at the intersection of law and technology. I help clients position their capabilities/tech to engender confidence in customers who are considering purchasing or employing them/it. Using my knowledge of law, data science, hardware engineering and design, telecommunications networking, and business, I develop use cases, provide advice and counsel, recommend proposal language, and recommend strategies that describe how a client's tech adheres to legal limits in data privacy, network connectivity, transactions, etc. I also assist the Defense Industrial Base with positioning its tech to comport with the boundaries that U.S. Government customers must adhere to when deploying and employing tech in support of mission. I consult on law and tech risk management, cybersecurity, systems & process engineering, and advanced data management. I am a well-rounded professional with a robust skill set. I've run my own successful business, worked on some of the most complex legal issues in national security, normalized metadata after extracting it from binary, managed risk in deploying wired and wireless tech on a global scale, litigated cases in court, and worked as a waterman on the Chesapeake Bay. Some have referred to me as a "renaissance man" because of my varied experiences and skills who is tenacious and persistent in pursuing positive outcomes for his clients and customers. I'd like to think that I'm a person who is honest with a good work ethic thirsting for knowledge and curious about the world around me. I love philosophy, science, law, and outdoor sports.I'm taking a different tack with my profile. I'm not selling who I've worked for; I'm interested in telling you about what I've done as an individual contributor and what that experience can do for you. As a result, you will not see my employers listed on my profile; my career for over a decade now has been about bringing my skills to customers who need someone who can work with lawyers, executives, IT, security, and operations to smooth tech integration and deployment in a way that is compliant with the relevant rules and regulations governing it.
