Current“La Huella en el Bosque”, a non-profit organization that seeks to conserve primary forests, by improving the quality of life of the native families who live around them.La Huella was born from the needs of 53 families from communities in the province of Requena, Loreto region in Peru; 53 families that currently consume up to 15 trees per family for cooking, that is, 795 trees annually, polluting the home with smoke derived from traditional cooking 24 hours a day.La Huella, is the first “improved cookstove”, to be designed according to the domestic needs and the natural habitat of the families, for efficient fuel management. This cookstove has the peculiarity that it does NOT work with conventional firewood, instead requires small branches, and air. Making it, the conservation tool, since it replaces the habit of felling trees as a supply of firewood, by the collection of dry branches, leaves, sawdust, etc. (Patented design 2018)We seek to generate a positive impact on the planet through this conservation mechanism; The goal is to replace the felling of trees as the supply for kitchen firewood for cooking, which could save up to 10 trees per year, per family. 530 trees in the first year in these communities alone. Around "the Island", a buffer zone of the Pacaya Samíria National Reserve, there are 17 communities, more than 200 families to be empowered, with La Huella, and many more around Peru and the world.
