In 2013 I created Maple 10 Media Design, a design service with a focus to assist marketers in the ethnic hair care market. My client base expanded to include a small variety of specialty markets, each with their own specific needs. As my client base expanded the projects and services did as well. Projects went from light design work to a full design service creating presentations, product photography, 3D image product development, marketing and business development, marketing collateral materials to more inventive products that were needed to serve the some of the more unique demands.

Created designs and concepts for independent convenience store and gas station owner, logo creation, branding and identity packaging design unique for each project. Including exterior sign pylon, building sign, interior signs and decor concepts, included but not limited to illumined signs, beer cave, marketing products, custom machine cover replacement pieces and way-finding signs. comprehensive knowledge of the standard signage material options and fabrication methods to processes each project.

Created static and animated B2B videos and images for use on social media outlets highlighting the benefits of using Kuwata Pan Dent laboratory services to dentist in the mid and upper east coast. I provided some light design work in recreating the company logo for usage across multiple file formats and media. Created stock holiday messaging, proposed new website mock up, video into and outro segments.

I currently design various custom displays, banners and signage. I produce sign proposals for clients for major construction projects and those same proposals are submitted for zoning in many municipalities in the US. I create proposals for fabricated cabinets along with corresponding production art and fabrication instructions. I’ve rebuilt and maintain the company website and have some light graphic design work responsibility.

This was originally an entry-level graphic designer position that grew over time into a multi-media position. I worked closely with several internal and external marketers as well as different departments to design and produce promotional materials for a variety of hair care products while meeting intensive deadlines. As the projects grew in complexity so did my skill set. I designed micro websites, fabricated prototype products, photographed products, produced presentations and introduced 3D modeling to the creative process. I also assisted the marketing department in a support capacity working tradeshows, providing the social media point person with images and working with the R&D department providing design materials as needed. I did this while maintaining the design standards of the established brands and helping to create new standards for new brands.

I created and updated advertisements for many locally based businesses in the Chicago area. Often the advertisements were in Spanish. Other responsibilities included creating internal print collateral for HOY newspaper and the Tribune Company (English and Spanish).

I worked for various Aquent clients to create materials as requested such as advertisements and promotional print collateral for print and electronic medias, updated quarter-end and year-end financial newsletters, designed POS displays, created and maintained websites and designed PowerPoint presentations. Clients included: OfficeMax, Quarasan, R.R. Donnelly (Anthology), Fire Star Communications, Ziegler Financial Investments, Douglas Murdock, Schofield Media LTD, Design Resource Center, Staples, RCN, and U-Marketing and Schawk.

I fabricated, scheduled and installed signs; banners, vinyl graphics and trade show displays. Additional responsibilities included some light graphic design work and maintenance of equipment used in design and production.

I supervised a team of production artist to produce and update weekly ads. We also aided Editorial with preparing visual content and paginated content for the Classified section. We created and implemented templates for the newspaper, special sections and oversaw the development of the company website. Set production schedules, enforced deadlines, prepared reports on weekly production and advertisements, met with clients to discuss ad creation, and kept equipment maintained.

I created recreated images, captured images from video, created exhibit images and produced oversized images for use in court for civil litigation. Assisted in studio photography included some light clerical and graphic design work.
