Served as the sole developer of object oriented C++ middleware for an eight degree of freedom robotic arm. Middleware development involved: o integrating open source software into a pre-existing real-time framework; o implementing CANopen to exchange application data with embedded systems; o utilizing EtherCAT, a real-time link layer protocol, to transfer data; o connecting an existing GUI framework to the middleware.Other tasks included: documentation, cross-platform build automation, servo drive configuration, manual system verification tests, and training team members on program capabilities and applicable technologies.
