Did you even know you had an academic dean when you were in college, or who that person was? I sure didn't! But when I served as the Dean of Academic Affairs at Carrington College, over half of the ~1,000 students knew me by name, and even more knew me as a supportive, helpful staff member on campus. They had no idea that my budgetary oversight encompassed more than $2M, but they knew that I cared and that I was watching out for their success.I’ve been told by my various teams that I’m a highly effective academic leader in support of campus operations and effectiveness. I’m known for building cohesive cross-functional teams which result in decreased student attrition, increased retention and student success. On a consistent basis I exceeded fiscal and personnel budgetary goals. My teams have appreciated my direct yet open approach with faculty, staff and students.
