It was perhaps inevitable that the child sitting in the back of the car on family holidays to France, asking to be the 'map-reader'​, would end up working in transport. Following a Masters dissertation on gender differences in wayfinding and navigation, I pursued my interest in urban movement (with a slight detour into the financial sector, which suited my analytical skill-set). I have since had the pleasure of managing a variety of transport projects including contactless payment demonstrations in California; reporting on the feasibility of large-scale transport infrastructure projects in the UK, Canada and the US; and developing fare harmonization and investment strategies for transit authorities.Whilst I still enjoy being the navigator, you're now more likely to find me getting excited about cycling provision and good 'integrated' transport - and not just when on holiday.
