Jonathan is currently serving a two-year term as a Professional Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).Prior to joining the SEC, Jonathan served as a Senior Manager in BDO's Professional Practice in Dallas, Texas and Chicago, Illinois where he assisted with the development of the firm's interpretive guidance and participated in consultations with audit engagement teams on technical accounting matters related to financial instruments, derivatives, business combinations, long-lived assets and consolidations under U.S. GAAP. He also worked extensively with audit engagement teams and the firm's publicly traded clients in applying U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements to periodic filings, initial public offerings, debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions.Jonathan previously served as a Senior Manager in BDO's Assurance practice in Houston, Texas. During this time he served large public filers in the energy sector and worked on a broad range of technical accounting and financial reporting issues.Jonathan earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Accounting from Saint Louis University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Texas.
