Jim R. Email and Phone Number
As freelance sound engineer and consultant I have worked various venues, including theaters, churches and bars, mixing for bands as well as improving house audio systems. My approach to consulting, especially for churches, is to see if the equipment already installed is being used to its maximum potential. Many times, there is no need to buy new equipment if the current equipment is setup and being used properly. One other area that I enjoy working in is helping bands convert to in-Ear monitor systems. I know many musicians have attempted and gave up on in-ears because they felt too "isolated", it does not have to be this way. I can also help with making the switch to a digital console. Prices have come way down in this area and are much more attainable for smaller acts! Send me a message if you would like to know more!I feel that it is important to always be growing in experience and knowledge. One way that I am constantly working to improve myself is by working as a Stagehand with IATSE Local 114. IATSE allows me to work large scale events and the opportunity to work in a different department each show (Sound, Lighting, Video and Carpentry!). Since I am not "in charge" of anything, I can just absorb as much info as I can about the systems I am working with, which are typically much more complex than I am used to working on. I absolutely love it!In addition to being a freelance sound engineer, I am a licensed helper electrician that is very close to having my Journeyman card. If you are looking for a reliable helper electrician, please feel free to reach out to me.
