Brett McLaurin, PG and I cofounded Subhorizon Geologic Resources (SGR). SGR is a geologic consulting company, located on the East Coast with offices in Bloomsburg, PA and Winston Salem, NC. We are licensed Professional Geologists with over 30 years experience in the mining industry and academia. The following are services that we currently offer: •Economic Evaluation of Mineral Resources (Aggregates & Industrial Minerals) Exploration, drill management, stone quality assessments, reserve estimates, and evaluations. (Experienced with Mineral Resource Evaluations of Conservation Easements and Condemnation Cases).•Rip Rap & Armor Stone Certifications - Professional Licensed Geologist with over 5 years aggregate quality control experience necessary to act as qualified "Stone Quality Control Supervisor" at Quarry locations. In addition, qualified to perform initial quarry certifications, typically required by Corps of Engineers for marine contractors. •Slope Stability Evaluations - Geologic structure mapping and rockfall investigations utilizing RockPack and CRSP software to make economic recommendations for unstable areas. These software programs are recognized as the industry standard for evaluating rockfall hazards. We can investigate slides or unknown hazards in mines that were not previously recognized and make face orientation, benching, and catch berm location recommendations. In addition, we can assist in the review of MSHA rockfall hazard citations. •Environmental Assessments - Phase One Assessments •Petrographic Services - Mineral identification and aggregate & concrete ASTM C 295. •Geospatial Solutions (Remote Sensing and GIS) - Experienced in utilizing GIS software in exploration for greenfield mineral and aggregate locations. •Natural Hazard Delineations - Landslides and sinkholes.•Medical Geology - Experienced dealing with the relationship between geological materials and geologic processes and their impacts on health.

•Chief Geologist that provided geologic oversight for forty-five aggregate operations. This included conducting reserve and economic analyses, aggregate quality testing/analyses, slope stability studies, geologic mapping/modeling, hydrology studies, report preparation and recommendations to mining engineers and senior management. •Annually developed geologic maps, cross-sections, and all documentation required by the Securities Exchange Commission's Form 10K reserve report for all Mideast Division sites.•Managed exploration and geologic evaluation of approximately 150 sites which included, greenfield sites, expansion of existing operations, and strategic potential acquisitions. •Supervised nine employees including geologists, administrative assistants, and drilling crews. Responsible for job-site safety, environmental stewardship, and employee career development.. •Knowledgeable of eastern US geology relative to rock quality and potential aggregate markets. Managed exploration projects in SC, NC, VA, WVA, MD, PA, and MASS.•Experienced with GPS (Trimble GEO-XH and laser) •Experienced with Electrical Resistivity, Refractive Seismic, and various geophysics equipment. •Utilized GIS applications to identify potential exploration targets and compile all Company property surveys for incorporation into the current GIS database program.•Developed relationships with school educators and industry leaders through multiple educational programs and public events. •Recognized as an Industry leader with public outreach. Created numerous educational programs, including the Joseph Gutierrez Earth Science Museum which averages 3,000 children visits per year. Teaching children and adults of the need for mining. •Interacted with various federal, state, and county regulatory agencies relative to groundwater, surface water, wetlands, land disturbance activities, UST abandonment and remediation, and mine safety.

Supervised ten person Exploration Drilling Department, which included four drill crews, drill foreman, and administrative assistants. Responsilbe for planning drill patterns, aggregate quality testing, core logging, and report preparations with recommedations.Managed Underground Storage Tank program, which involved tank testing 150 USTs, UST removals, site assessments, and soil remediation projects. In addition, this included managing consultants and maintaining all required records. Created and implemented Vulcan’s Environmental Handbook and employee training programs.

NCDOT Geotechnical Unit. Responsible for analyzing sulfur content in road cuts to determine possible rock toxicity to the surrounding surface waters and tested water quality in creeks and rivers along highway project.Used electrical resistivity and refractive seismic analysis for road cut studies.Collected rock structural data and performed slope stability analysis for highway road cuts.

Responsible for continuous data collection and analysis for physical characteristics of subsurface strata such as lithology, drill cutting rate, and presence of oil and gas.
