Joshua Vincent is the Executive Director of Southern Vision Alliance (SVA), a justice-centered grassroots intermediary that supports frontline organizing projects and leadership programs in the US South. With over 15 years of experience in the political nonprofit sector, he is an expert in fundraising, community organizing, and movement building. He holds two Master's degrees in History and Music, reflecting his diverse and interdisciplinary interests and skills.As the leader of SVA, Joshua oversees the incubation, infrastructure, capacity building, coaching, and technical assistance for more than 30 partner groups and initiatives that aim to disrupt and transform power for collective liberation. He also collaborates with local, regional, and national organizations and networks to advance the political empowerment of directly-impacted communities. In addition, he is a globally acclaimed musician and a scholarly thinker, who has contributed to notable projects such as Rick Ross' "Port of Miami 2", Jeezy's "TM104", and the score of Aaron McGruder's "The Boondocks". He is passionate about using music and history as tools for education, inspiration, and social change.
