First of all, I’m called to help planters start mission-shaped churches in urban centers of North America that embody the Good News in such a way that they are a faithful sign, instrument, and foretaste of God’s kingdom. I hope to improve my understanding of both the dominant culture as well as the Gospel in order to better engage in the art of bilingual theological reflection with the hope of helping the church construct local communities and theologies that are faithful to Christ. I have already helped start churches in Virginia [nlcf] and California [Kairos Los Angeles]. I am currently the national director of church planting for V3 (with the Virginia Baptist) where I am fulfilling this calling.Secondly, God has put a passion in my heart for economic justice, the poor, and peacemaking. My hope is that the God would use my education and experience to build relationships that will help me to pursue these passions. I also trust that God will use the ministries I am serving (V3, Missio Alliance, The Ecclesia Network, The Solis Foundation, GCM) to wisely build global partnerships with churches and people in the majority world in order to reduce the different forms of poverty in both the majority world and the West. Lastly, it is my hope that through collaboration with my colleagues, mentors and emerging leaders that I will embody a greater missional expertise in order to be a resource and develop resources that help cultivate, equip, and multiply mission-shaped churches and leaders who learn to incarnate the Good News in the neighborhood and the world. I am doing that through organizations mentioned above.
