DESIGN ENGINEER • FORD • OCTOBER 2019 – PRESENTDaily iterative design of plastic components for the interior (Instrument Panel / Console / Seats / Lift Gate), creating functional proposals for change of geometry and attachment strategies, feasibility, and packaging. Everyday usage of Catia V5(2D & 3D), Teamcenter and Vismockup. Performing digital assembly evaluations to meet the craftmanship and geometrical targets set to compete with the best in the automotive industry. Complementary achievements:• Lead for the Ongoing Product Development of the current 2024 Mustang console. • Lead for the release of several exterior components for the 2023 Lincoln Corsair for North America and China. (Roof Rails / Rear Lightning and backup camera + washer / Mirrors + camera / Glass Trim / Windshield / Quarter Glass) • Cost reduction helping hands for F150 from August to November of 2020. Praised by the Trucks Chief. • Promotion back in August 2020 and again in November 2021• OverEngineering Project: Eradicate the overdesign in plastic components to achieve an optimal design that can minimize the usage of reinforcements and features without compromising the functionality. Weight reduction avoid using extra material and minimize cost are the main drivers for this project. Ongoing project. • Back2Basics Design Forum: Series of assessments that focus on checking the methods the core team is using to design in a daily basis. Highlining the Musts we must follow, the best practices we have detected and minimizing the areas of opportunity we found. Positive results all over the 2 runs performed, on hold for the 3rd run confirmation.
