My current role involves leading a multi-national, multi-lingual counter-misinformation, fact-checking, and editorial operation in Europe and Asia. I oversee a team of over 50 direct and indirect reports across 12 countries, focusing our efforts on countering online harms related to mis and disinformation. In addition, we are actively involved in building tech solutions that support both fact-checking and online trust and safety professionals, and we have established strong partnerships with Google, Meta, and TikTok’s T&S teams. I am an International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) fellow, recognised by the US State Department for my contributions to digital media and counter-misinformation.With over 15 years of experience, including leadership roles in TV news networks, digital news, and technology companies, I am an experienced media professional and a firm believer in the digital future of news and credible information.Previously, I was a senior editor and newsroom manager with solid and dotted-line responsibilities over multiple teams and dozens of media professionals. In this role, I established workflows, mentored young professionals to assume leadership roles in 24/7 news monitoring and output teams, and built one of India's first internationally certified fact-checking teams.Throughout my career, I have gained diverse experience in various roles, including photographer, reporter, field producer, social media manager, news editor, and content strategist.
