Lego® has become an incredibly powerful tool in the teaching of academics, using its infinite amount of ways of connecting its many shapes, sizes and colors to help demonstrate academic concepts. However, the act of learning, or the process of acquiring knowledge, requires the mastery and use of a particular skillset that is not generally assessed or developed. These skills include the ability to plan, engage, focus, filter, prioritize and remember. The assumption by many educators, including parents, teachers and educational administrators, is that these skills are developed intrinsically, and should already be present when one attempts to acquire knowledge. For many, this is not the case. The motivation to learn when lacking in these essential skills progressively deteriorates, making the process of learning continually more challenging, more exhausting, and more futile. I created "L.E.G.O."​ to provide children, teens and adults the opportunity to develop their learning skills, or, to learn "how"​ to learn. Building with Lego® facilitates the discovery of our learning styles and helps us to develop the skills that support the entire learning process. As a result, children, teens and adults ultimately experience the acquisition of knowledge as an holistic, satisfying and fun process.
