I was recruited to design and develop an innovative therapeutic learning center for students grades 6-8. I implement individualized academic instructional plans and behavioral programs, and collaborated with all support providers to ensure adoption of curriculum and instruction. I also developed a student-driven classroom management model to create a cooperative and collaborative environment. I served as a teacher and coordinator of a sub-separate special education program for grades 4 - 8. I supervised a staff of nine including ABA, ASD and inclusion specialists, and developed and modified curriculum for all students and subjects based upon student academic and behavioral/emotional levels and disabilities.  - I created schedules for all staff and students in program, developed IEPs and Behavior Support Plans, regular participation and facilitator of IEP, parent, student behavior and staff meetings. I also administered academic and behavior assessments including WIAT-III, BASC and FBA (Functional Behavioral Assessments).  - I prepared and supervised MCAS-Alt portfolios and implemented the Massachusetts Common Core Curriculum into the special education setting. I also supervised, trained staff in a direct instruction reading program, and instructed daily math, social, life and organizational/study skills classes.

As coordinator of the MPCS district residential and day at-risk student intake program (moderate and severe needs) I supervised and administered comprehensive student academic, medical and social/emotional testing and assessment battery, developed and implemented individualized academic curriculum, collaborated with child care agency residential personnel, psychologists, social workers, nurses and counselors regarding behavioral issues and interventions, medications, medical needs and assessments of previously attended schools and facilities. I also made recommendations to building principals for student class placements.As building coach and coordinator of our school reading program I developed class schedules and staff assignments, provided in-class coaching, demonstrations and individualized training, conducted professional development and team meetings, and evaluated teaching staff inclusive of written observations.- I developed academic, artistic and vocational programs for developmentally and behaviorally challenged students (moderate and severe needs) ages 5-21. I also developed procedures for student academic data collection, evaluations of student progress and interventions.- I served as supervisor and administrator of our after-school program (30 staff, approx. 100 students) and was the leader of the committee for the development of the MPCS Student Handbook and Code of Conduct. I regularly developed Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) and participated in Child Study Team (CST) meetings.- I developed and taught an original character education and conflict resolution curriculum for teachers and students: “The United Nations Classroom.”- I assessed and developed a plan of action to improve Regents and RCT scores analyzing data inclusive of instructor practices, trends in pupil population and behaviors, utilization of space, and compatibility of curriculum and needs of student population.
