I've always taken pride in adventure, creativity, and leadership in my personal and professional life. I thrive in an environment in which I can utilize my unique skillset, while leveraging those of my colleagues, to progress toward a common goal.Throughout the years, I've enjoyed many enriching hobbies that have nurtured my passion for teamwork and leadership. Since I was a kid, I've been a hockey player. This has taught me the value of teamwork, how to think quickly, and to look at the big picture. I’ve also enjoyed 15 years as a guitarist in a folk metal band. As one of the primary songwriters, I utilized my creativity to compose songs, and bring my ideas to life with the help of my bandmates. Lastly, I've always had a passion for hiking and the outdoors. For years I would research spots for hiking and backpacking. I would map out routes and coordinate with my friends to lead us to amazing campsites in the backcountry. Most recently, my partner and I successfully thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail, from Mexico to Canada, while creating videos and growing our YouTube channel. Over 5 months and 2,200 miles we had to endure harsh conditions, fatigue, logistical dilemmas, but maintain a level-head and keep making progress north. These personal experiences have helped me not only grow and thrive as a person, but also in my professional life.I've been with IAS Labs for over 10 years. I began as a lab technician and worked my way into the role of lab manager. As a manager, I assisted the lab in obtaining various certifications and accreditations, helped smooth processes and workflow, and made sure our team was staying on target. Specifically, I played a crucial role in our EPA 200.8 certification from the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS), our ISO 17025 accreditation, and our certification to test heavy metals in cannabis samples from AZDHS. I handled some testing myself, but more importantly, I led a small team through proficiency testing, process development, data collection, quality control, and SOP creation. On top of this, I would oversee routine testing, conduct internal audits, and communicate with clients.No matter the challenge or environment, my goal is to utilize my creativity and leadership, and help a team make forward progress!
