The North OC community gathered on June 24th, 2017 for 6 hours to build a responsive web app that helps neighbors find healthy food and activities in Orange County. The Alliance for a Healthy Orange County and the downtown Santa Ana business district partnered to create a healthy app targeting specifically Anaheim, Garden Grove and Santa Ana where resident’s health is most at risk. The app was built using ASP.NET MVC, AngularJS, bootstrap v3.3.7, and Google Maps Geocoding APIMy team of three, built a responsive web app for the homeless, conceptualized by the OC Burrito Project. The app includes resources for finding shelters, emergency services, medical care, and faith organizations. Our app managed intake forms to help identify eligible benefits for individuals in need and provide a persistent DB for continued application use and resource management.I was responsible for integrating the Google Maps features, using the Google Maps Geocoding API to locate resources in the area. I addition, I built the core front page navigation.
