The lab focused on oyster recruitment and oyster reef ecology. My duties included traveling to study sites with the rest of the research team, collecting samples in the field, and analyzing collected samples in a laboratory. In the field, oyster reef sites were analyzed for the amount of recruits the parent reef had at the time. Additionally, samples of species living in and around the reef were collected and taken back to the lab for analysis. In the lab, my duties focused on examining the species composition of the samples collected in the field to determine what species use oyster reef as habitat.
