This community-based statewide initiative delivers mentoring services to help offenders safely and successfully return to communities. Nearly 4,700 offenders leave prison each year and many need help finding employment/housing, getting connected to services/treatment and reuniting safely with neighborhoods/families. Mentors support the work of correctional case workers and service/treatment providers by assisting offenders in reaching their reentry plan goals. Mentors are also instrumental in helping offenders establish a life of pro-social activities and meaningful engagement within their communities. I meet every couple of weeks with a group of Veterans Incarcerated where we discuss life skills, leadership development, and sometimes share war stories.

Served as the Regimental Rear Detachment Commander supporting operations of a forward deployed Armored Cavalry Regiment. Led a detachment composed of four subordinate Squadron Rear Detachments, one Troop Rear Detachment, and three Troops of Ready/Trained Soldiers. Oversaw the training, discipline, morale, welfare, and equipping of between 700 and 1200 Soldiers. Provided focus, direction, and motivation to subordinate commanders and staff to ensure completion of all Mission Essential Tasks. Tasks included: casualty affairs, care of approximately 8,000 Family Members, training and processing of Trained/Ready Soldiers and replacement Soldiers, and sustainment of Left Behind Equipment. Postured the Regiment for Conversion to Stryker.

Executive Officer of the Division's General Support Aviation Battalion; provided UH60 support to VIPs, and reconnaissance missions; UH60 support for aerial medical evacuations; CH47 support for the movement of supplies and personnel throughout the Multi-National Division - Baghdad area of operations.Supported recovery operations in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina; in South Texas following Hurricane Rita; and in Pakistan following devestating earthquakes there.
