As the Managing Director and principal consultant for SYSTEMTEC I have been responsible for providing IT services to businesses in the Snowy Monaro since 2017. This includes small to medium businesses ranging from trade services to large enterprises.SYSTEMTEC provides a range of IT related services, from infrastructure management and networking, web development and maintaining and supporting business critical systems (such as medical centres), to cloud transformation services and business analysis.

As the General Manager IT, I commenced at Asplundh charged with the responsibility of investigating the failure of an existing mobile field force solution and either redeveloping it using the contracted development company in New Zealand or finding another solution for the business using other technologies – which was the end result using an ‘off the shelf’ product (GIS Cloud) in the short term to provide an immediately effective solution and commencing work in developing an ESRI Enterprise level solution. I also oversaw the implementation of a cloud transformation project (moving the company’s data to Office 365 and AD in Azure).

As the CIO, I was responsible for leading and managing the IT function for the Active Group Of Companies (including Active Tree Services, Active Infrastructure Services and Aerial Access Australia), I co-designed and managed the delivery of a project to replace all ‘line of business systems’, partnering with Professional Advantage. The solution involved Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft SharePoint and Scribe Integration services to integrate the platforms. The project was a success and the business still uses the solution, and under my management was further developed to include Payroll services and other previously disparate systems.I designed and managed the development of the Active-Mobile Operations Management system. This is a GIS based asset management and in-field workflow and data collection system using Esri GIS technologies, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SharePoint as its base components. The system was designed by myself, and the solution was developed under my management and guidance. It is now integral to all operational activities and allows the business to manage all customer contract activity, measure productivity and track lost time/money. The system was eventually surfaced alongside key relational data from ‘line of business systems’, in a BI project I managed. Using QlikView and Microsoft SSIS the company now has a web portal to view near ‘real-time’ business metrics.I also implemented the Active-Mobile solution in a SAAS model and successfully engaged several customers and produced a new stream of income to the business, previously dedicated to vegetation management. Active-Mobile is now successfully being used by several clients of Active Tree Services, and being used to respond to technology based RFT’s.
