This initiative was developed to support MAG’s bid to purchase Stansted Airport by increasing Commercial and Operational efficiency. On acquisition, I assembled the team to deliver this Programme, leading it through design and construction until going operational. Having committed to business targets prior to ownership and with little substantive information on the existing Terminal, this programme worked through a challenging risk profile to successfully transform the Terminal and deliver:- A new fully equipped 22 lane security area in 20 weeks; the largest in Europe at that time,- Within 16 weeks, demolish 32 Check In desks and design and install new baggage lines to maintain system capacity,- Demolish and re-build 22,000m2 of Terminal space while 50m passengers used the facility uninterrupted,- Provide 46 new retail and food outlets. Winning a British Council of Shopping Centres Gold Award, and undertaking the largest terminal airside boundary change the DfT had witnessed demonstrate the quality and complexity of this project. I received the MAG Project Manager of the Year Award in 2010 as a result of my work on this project.Project Lead - Bournemouth Airport Arrivals TerminalI took the initial brief, assembled and led the design team on what became a very innovative independent arrivals facility at Bournemouth Airport. Within very tight budget constraints, we provided the first carbon neutral terminal building focusing on functionality for passengers while providing a high standard of office space for UKBF. My role included breaking the Masterplan into phases, and infrastructure packages aligned to the development plan, and coordinating the delivery schedule with letting opportunities.Project Lead - East Midlands Terminal RedevelopmentI took the lead following broader programme and budget challenges which were preventing the work going to contract.I worked with the key stakeholders and contractors to resolve these issues, re-aligning scope, budget and schedule and formalising the contract for works.
