Orchestrated and led comprehensive housing advocacy initiatives across San Mateo County, fostering strategic partnerships with diverse advocacy groups to advance the vision of more inclusive, pedestrian-friendly, and sustainable communities. Leveraging a deep understanding of local and state housing policies and regulations, I effectively communicated complex concepts to the community in a clear and accessible manner.In my supervisory role, I oversaw a dedicated team of three staff members, empowering them to engage with various constituencies within their respective cities to drive impactful outreach and community leadership development. By cultivating a supportive environment, our aim was not only to shape positive housing policies but also to enhance the community's capacity for effective leadership. Led HLC’s flagship events, including the annual Housing Leadership Day and Affordable Housing Week, I coordinated logistics, managed sponsor relationships, and ensured seamless execution from planning to fruition. These events serve as vital platforms for showcasing the pressing need for affordable housing in our county while galvanizing stakeholders to address fundamental challenges. Additionally, I actively engaged with community members seeking affordable housing, providing resources and referrals to county housing and service providers, thereby fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment. Furthermore, I spearheaded the redesign of HLC’s website, enhancing accessibility, usability, and functionality, resulting in more streamlined maintenance and timely updates. As the curator of HLC’s monthly newsletter, I curated engaging content, event information, and pertinent news, ensuring that subscribers remain informed and engaged in our advocacy efforts.
