The idea for Joyous Solutions came from a desire to clone myself in my day job, when I had multiple sales and marketing projects on the go at the same time. I just wished I had an extra pair of hands to help me get everything done, without having to work longer hours each week! Back then it was everything from exhibitions to collaterals, logistics to in-depth training and education, branding through to forecasts for the Board Book. Email was relatively new to small businesses and social media didn’t exist yet, so the experience I’d gained in a corporate setting proved helpful to local SMEs.Over time, freelance work led to several full time leadership opportunities, further expanding my skills and experience in the biomedical industry, and giving me a much wider hands-on skill set to bring to clients. I’ve always thrived on building relationships based on mutual trust to deliver win-win outcomes. Sometimes I work alone, although I’m also blessed to call on a network of talented friends if a project needs it.My own personal development journey led to creating The Joy Connector coaching framework, a pathway for women to build on their innate strengths and raise feminine energy in our communities. We all have a part to play and mine includes the coaching support I’ve been privileged to share in my role at WMRSASC, where we Trustees are legally responsible for governance and sustainability.

I am honoured to be on the Trustee Board for this outstanding team as we continue to monitor and develop governance and sustainability for an expanded service offering to women, children (aged 5+) and men.Trustee roles and responsibilities continue to evolve in the context of funding and a growing team of staff and volunteers, inextricably linked to the structural changes in Health, Policing and the justice system. A key concern is the well-being of our team in the face of increased demand where services remain under-funded and I challenge any business to deliver as much as we do without guaranteed sustainable cashflow! Elected to Chair from August 2016, with line management of CEO. Managed the operational transition to bring online 9 new partners (12 countries), whilst supporting a declining coronary legacy market in 3 countries. Sold CGuard directly to early adopters in UK hospitals, developing a viable base to justify switching to a distributor model before NHS Supply Chain announced new framework tender (discussions in progress at time of redundancy). In one year achieved 63% sales growth compared to PY, with business on track to double in 2019.Position made redundant with management change. -

Relocated from UK to Ireland to take on the general management of this new subsidiary of an interventional oncology start-up. Consultancy assignment involved planning for US and European commercialisation, as well as getting to know the technology and the medicine behind this innovative drug delivery system.Responsible for 17 staff in 5 countries, plus an outsourced team of 10 field-based Medical Science Liaison Managers and interim Medical Director. Created and developed processes, budgets/forecasts, risk analysis and business plans, updating them as strategic imperatives evolved in line with live market feedback. Position made redundant during 2nd wave of refocusing resources towards clinical goals (rather than commercial). -
